What will August bring for the members of the Adelaide Plains Chapter and Verse group? Well, next week on the Sunday after next, we'll be having some history to write about, fun times in Mallala!
The group will meet at the Mallala Museum at 10.30. We will look at the display and find something that interests us, then we will write about it. The writing can be in any form, poem, article, fiction or non-fiction. It's all up to you, the writer.
After the historical or maybe hysterical fun, we'll head off back across the road to the Mallala Hotel for a lovely lunch. There are pokie machines there, but not many and they're tucked away so won't interfere with our enjoyment.
Of course you may like to give the pokies a go and win something, it does happen occasionally... I'm not anti the pokies, but nor am I advocating them - we're all adults and can make up our own minds, right? Right.
Back to the museum - this museum has been there as a museum for many years, and is getting better and better as the wonderful volunteers who work there work on the displays. There is farm machinery, there are items of old clothing, kitchen items, cookery things, a huge array of old things.
