Competition Closing Date, Approaching Soon!

The Adelaide Plains Chapter and Verse group has a short story competition going at the moment, with the theme of Fairy Tales Twisted Sideways. The entries have started arriving in droves, and the quality of the entries is high, I'm loving my job as competition secretary.

But entries close soon, on the 30th of June, so if you plan on entering this great competition, don't leave it too long to enter. The 30th is a Sunday, so make sure you post your entries by Friday. If your entry isn't going to be finished in time, send the money by Friday the 28th, with a note, and send the entry to my by email - jeebers@aussiebb.com.au

The best three entries will be awarded, first, second and third, and the best of the entries will all be published in a collection - probably twenty to thirty entries will be published, depending on the length of the best entries.

So don't miss out, write your Twisted Fairy Tale and send it off to me!

Winners

The winners of the Gawler Gallery Ekphrastic Poetry competition. Left is Colleen Moyne, in the centre at the back is Alex Robertson, right is Marilyn Simpson, and in the middle front is Carolyn Cordon. All are members of the Adelaide Plains Chapter and verse group, who meet in Gawler at the Prince Albert Hotel every Thursday afternoon.

The competition was a fascinating adventure in combining two art forms and in creation. Visual arts and literature mixed well together that Saturday, that's for sure! Those competing all viewed art works hanging in the gallery and then wrote one or more poems about the art work chosen.

It will certainly happen again, next year probably and we all hope to have even more people involved next time.
