Competition Closing Date, Approaching Soon!

The Adelaide Plains Chapter and Verse group has a short story competition going at the moment, with the theme of Fairy Tales Twisted Sideways. The entries have started arriving in droves, and the quality of the entries is high, I'm loving my job as competition secretary.

But entries close soon, on the 30th of June, so if you plan on entering this great competition, don't leave it too long to enter. The 30th is a Sunday, so make sure you post your entries by Friday. If your entry isn't going to be finished in time, send the money by Friday the 28th, with a note, and send the entry to my by email - jeebers@aussiebb.com.au

The best three entries will be awarded, first, second and third, and the best of the entries will all be published in a collection - probably twenty to thirty entries will be published, depending on the length of the best entries.

So don't miss out, write your Twisted Fairy Tale and send it off to me!

  1. OK, so the deadline has been and gone, entries arrived and will be handed on for judging later in July. Fairy Tales were twisted cleverly and gleefully. The competition secretary has read the entries, and thanks everyone who's sent their Tale in, such fun reading nearly every day toward the deadline date, so much fun!

Winners will be announced later in the year, once the judge has done their work. The book of the best entries will be published and launched at a time and place to be announced.
The group members will further consider what to do next year, but the idea of doing a Not So Romantic short story competition - with the theme of "Romance Sucks" is looking to be a likely winner - it won't be decided until next year though, so please don't send anything in yet.

We will be announcing the Poetry competition soon though and putting out the entry form and guidelines for a poetry competition with a closing date around middle of January 2014. More on this blog later, with theme, entry form and guidelines once they available.
